Elna Christiansen, bronze sculptor

A zoo as a place for inspiration? This is where I met with Elna. She sculpts animals in bronze. Because she loves animals and loves working with this metal.
Working with copper means coping with contrasts.
It is about combining strength and softness, mixing weight and movement, using heat and coldness but also playing with rigidity and flexibility or enriching loneliness with togetherness. It all started when she was a child.
During one Christmas season, at her parent’s tree nursery, she grabbed some clay and started to sculpt. Elna wants her work to be a poetic testimonial of the beauty of nature.
